The students were sent a message to come to a place right next to the airport, to come to Jazera Airways. Immediately rumors spread about an important to trip which turned out to be just a rumor. We were invited to take a look at the Jazeera headquarters including a private tour and a look into their planes.

When we think about just a normal tour of airplanes we think just well look we might learn but the lesson learned seemed to be much deeper. From what the students were asking and how they were reacting to the tour the lesson learned was how there more to something than what just meets the eye.

1

There a lot behind the simplest of things like sitting on a plane that goes on just to get you at the point.

The amount of work, the amount of people, the amount of time. It’s all just to get a on a plane, it puts things in perspective. And we take the simplest things for granted and not realise all that goes into what’s going on. The students seemed to realize that and were grateful for that, so we thank Jazeera Airways for everything.

Day 33-Rana’s Activity & Project Work

On an article to guide the youth of tomorrow, Mentor Rana took the future generation under her wing. Today was all about article reading and discussions.

The notes entitled: The Most common mistakes young People make spoke about the common things that we tend to do as young adults and the mentality we tend to have at such an age. And tendency to bear the burden about worrying about our future selves, what path we should take and how to get there.

The article quotes “ Everything that happens in the future is a direct result of what you do today” lets not forget that “ You are the coach of your future, You are the ONLY coach of your future self”

She assured the students that mistakes and change are inevitable, and one must not be afraid of when it happens, but to embrace change and accept and learn from our mistakes. Who we are today is a direct result of the decisions we made when we were young and that there is always time to take the risk and change towards a better version of one’s self.

And with loving and caressing she showed how the protégés is built on that foundation the protégés family are and will always be here for support, & guidance.

Thereafter it was time to set the structure of the teams and the financial plan along with the logistics and marketing campaign that bring the project to life.

They started firstly with a pen and paper in hand, and took to the pages for an explosion of thoughts,

Firstly and foremost before we start any exercise analyzing the advertisements and media from magazines and political speeches., what is Love ? How far would you go to do something that you love? How do you express that love?

Mentor Yarub tied that question in with how the media industry managed to make the purchase of expensive wedding rings the norm of expressing love.

When such a thing ceased to exist a mere decade ago.

The media industry had managed to connected happiness and love towards buying an expensive be seen as a normal way of expressing affection.

Afterwards, they analysed a speech by Salah Al Deen Al Ayobi with an Egyptian film realsed in the Late 1950’s and how it’s name was directly linked to governor at the time, despite it being a non-political movie.

Then Mentor Yarub explains how people in the music industry tend to gain success from their lyrics as music is widespread in mainstream and the messages behind them relate to a common goal between each one of us for example/ Micheal Jackson’s song Heal the World from his 1991 album Dangerous.

Touch Down Kuwait. on the first day back the students were thrusted to a session full on Human Rights. Led by Dr.Ebtihal Al Khateeb.

The session started with the students watching a documentary on the history of human rights and it’s foundation and assessed and examined the human values that can be constituted and considered as a human Right. Whether it’s the right to education, shelter etc.

“Human Rights differ from Era to Era “ Protégé Boshra states .

“ The problem is that each country has their own set of beliefs it can be okay to do something in one country however would be considered a violation in another if the bill of human rights is applied it will slowly ease the process of solving the problems between each country” Replies Protégé Tarik.

Devising a unique set of activities for the students. Dr.Ebtihal starts by dividing the protégés into groups of four for an activity of The Human Rights Tree.

Students had to draw out the most important Human right they collectively agreed on and then arrange the rest branching out forming a collective tree of human rights.

After finishing up all three groups presented their tree’s and all had one right in common that formed the Roots of the Human rights tree and that was the right to freedom and life.

Then afterwards she started another activity where she asked the students to “ Imagine us as 25 are going to a new planet and you have to create a constitutional law for that planet based on civic rights, what you do?”

In their teams they discussed and filtered the most suitable rights too include in a bill of rights that can serves as a constitutional bill of rights for the people.

And after each team presented their bill rights it was time for further analysis to filter out the best.

The next activity saws the students acting as judges as Dr. Ebtihal handed out a worksheet for the students that had a set of actions and they has to determine which human right was violated inn such an act. This helped the students be more weary and conscious of how even sometimes the simplest of acts can violate a human Right.

And to conclude a day filled with assessing what human Rights are, the students received postcards from different paintings and arts from the era and were told about the story and author behind each one getting glimpse of the past through postcards.
